Rs 25 lakh cash recovered in Golaghat, 4 arrested

GOLAGHAT/DHEKIAL, Dec 14: Acting on a tip-off, the Golaghat Police on Tuesday recovered Rs 25 lakh from four persons in Golaghat town.

The four persons have been identified as Sunil Moheswary, Manish Agarwalla and Ajay Chandak, all residents of Jorhat, and Babul Ali, resident of Titabor.  The police recovered Rs 25 lakh and eight mobile phone handsets from their possession.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Shyam Kumar Chouhan said following secret information, Golaghat Police bbed the four persons with a large number of new currency notes of Rs 2,000.

They were traveling to Golaghat for handing over the new notes on commission basis. They did not reveal the me the person who had called them to exchange the old notes with new notes. The Golaghat Police have started investigation into the matter.
