Teachers set deadline for Dispur

By our Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, June 26: The All Assam Recognized ME School Teachers' Association (AARMESTA) has set the deadline of June 30 this year for the State Education Department to provincialise the posts of its members, failing which they would resort to an agitation at Khapara in the city on July 1.

According to the leaders of the association, with the amendment of the Assam Venture Educatiol Institutions (Post Provincialization) Act, 2011 as many as 2,800 recognized ME Schools in the State were provincialized. However, the department is yet to give its approval towards that end. Of late, when the association leaders met the authorities concerned, they came to know that the process is being delayed. This has led the association to set the deadline.
