Top NDFB(S) ultra held in Bengal

Guwahati, March 16: A top NDFB(S) militant, involved in the December 23 carge, has been bbed in West Bengal. The militant has been identified as Roshish Basumatary alias Jama. He is a ‘section commander’ and a 35th batch Myanmar trained cadre of the outfit. The joint operation was carried out by NIA, Assam police and army with the help of Bengal police. Jama was apprehended from the jungles of Jaldarpara tiol Park, New Alipurduar. He was staying at a house there, but the owners of the house were not aware that he was an insurgent. Kokrajhar police said Jama was today brought to Gossaigaon and produced before court which remanded him to police custody. Meanwhile, with the security forces continuing the offensive against the NDFB(S), there are inputs that some of its cadres are slipping into West Bengal and Bhutan.
