Assam Election Grand Alliance Seat Sharing: The assam election seat-sharing between the parties in the Congress-led grand alliance or 'Mahajoot' will be finalized within a few days as the last date for filing nomination papers for the phase 1 of the polls is March 9, said sources.

The assam election grand alliance comprises the Congress, AIUDF (All India United Democratic Front), CPI (Communist Party of India), CPI (Marxist), CPI-ML (Marxist-Leninist), AnchalikGanaMorcha, and BPF (Bodoland Peoples' Front).

Till the time of filing this report, a closed-door meeting regarding assam seat sharing was being held among the parties of the grand alliance at a city hotel.

According to APCC (Assam Pradesh Congress Committee) sources, the seat-sharing will be made public shortly. Discussions are being held as to which party will have a political stronghold by contesting from a respective constituency, said a source.

On the other hand, the APCC election committee will hold a crucial meeting on Wednesday. The party will have discussions about fielding its candidates from different constituencies. Later in the day, another meeting of the AICC (All India Congress Committee) scanning committee will be held.
