Boost to Ayurveda in Assam; Health workers to get immunity boosters

DHUBRI: The State Health and Family Welfare Department has directed the Mission Director of National Health Mission to provide 'Ayush Kwath' and 'Samshamani Vati' (Ayurvedic) as immunity boosting medicine to all doctors, paramedics, nurses, and frontline health workers deployed for duties in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Chief Executive of Rhino Research Products, Bimal Oswal said that this was real recognition for the Ayurvedic system of medicine by the Government of Assam. "We thank all concerned and especially our Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for this huge initiative to promote Ayurveda," Oswal said.

When contacted, Dr Siddhartha Kumar Sharma who works as yoga therapist in 'Pradnya Institute of Yoga' at Almaty, Kazakhstan, said, "All health workers need both yoga and Ayurveda to combat and defeat the pandemic."
