Martyr Rifleman Suman Swargiary's Body to Arrive Today

GUWAHATI: The mortal remains of martyr Rifleman Suman Swargiary will arrive in Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport at 7.30 am on Monday as the flight bringing the body from Imphal had to make an emergency landing at Jorhat airport following a technical snag.

The mortal remains of Swargiary will remain in Jorhat on Sunday night and move for Kahibari for the last rite on Monday, a defence spokesman here said.

State Health Minister Keshab Mahanta was proceeding towards Thoikarkush in Baksa district of lower Assam to take part in the last rite of the jawan. He, however, had to return to Guwahati following the report of delay in the arrival of his body. He will pay his last respects to the jawan at LGBI Airport here on Monday.
