COVID- 19 positive cases in Tripura rise to 64; highest in Northeast

AGARTALA: With 22 persons more people in the Jawharnagar camp of the 138 bn BSF detected as coronavirus positive, the total number of infected persons in Tripura rose to 64 which is the highest among all the north-eastern States. With two patients already released, the number of active cases in the State stands at 62 mow. Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb in a tweet message reiterated his plea not to be panicked as the government is vigilant about what is happening.

It is learned that the 22 persons were found positive following swab test of 435 persons who came in close contact with the earlier affected persons. Now fresh searches are on to find out the persons who came in contact with the newly detected positive cases.

In addition to these, massive testing is going on in the three containment areas of Dhalai district; and the authorities have said that they are not leaving anything to chance.
