BTC Polls: Counting underway in Chirang

Counting is underway at the Kajalgaon and Bijni counting centres of Chirang. The candidates contesting the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections from Chirang are already present at the centre. Of the total 40 BTC seats, 19 are in Chirang and Kokrajhar. Voting for the 19 seats was held on December 10.

Voting for 21 seats in Udalguri and Baksa was held in Phase I of the polls on December 7.

Total 241 candidates are in the fray. The BTC polls is being keenly fought between BJP, BPF and UPPL. Congress is also in the fray.
