Namsang Tea Estate geared up to tackle COVID strain

Namsang tea estate, which is located at the Assam-Arunachal border in Naharkatia is all geared up to deal with COVID-19.

The estate authorities took stock of the safety measures in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. Outside vehicles have been banned from entering the garden after 5 pm, as the government imposed a night curfew. In addition, every vehicle entering the tea estate is being sanitised at the main entrance of the tea estate.

Tea estate workers were seen wearing masks and maintaining social distance in the tea estate.

Workers has been provided soap and water to wash their hands as well as a sanitiser. Tea estate authorities are closely monitoring them.

An awareness programme has also been organised by the tea estate authority. A quarantine centre has also been set up at the Namsai tea estate.

Speaking to the media, an authority said, " Due to the second wave of COVID 19 pandemic, we have started an awareness programme among tea estate workers. They have been provided water, soaps for health hygiene in tea estate. and they are following COVID protocols."
