Senior Journalist Jadu Chutia Dies of COVID

Moranhat press club president, senior journalist, writer and social activist Jadu Chutia died on Wednesday at Tiloijan village, Moran under the Dibrugarh district at his own residence.

He was 49 when he died. He was a diabetic patient and was suffering from kidney failure. He was admitted to Dibrugarh's Assam Medical College after he had tested positive for COVID.

Besides being a journalist, he was a teacher at Khowang Sonowal Charitable Girls' English School. As a journalist he had worked for the Assamese daily Axomiya Pratidin. Chutia wrote many books such as, 'Bhinna Rupot Mahabharatar Nari', 'Mon nijorar xote xote', 'Yuvabanir prabandha', 'Akha Nirakhar Kabya' etc.

His death has been mourned by many including Moran MLA Chakradhar Gogoi, Mahmora MLA Jugen Mohan, Moranhat press club, and several other organisations.
