Several Candidates file nomination papers for 3rd phase

In poll-bound Assam, several candidates have filed nomination papers for the third phase of polls at the South- Salmara and Mankachar constituency.

Yesterday was the last day of filing for nomination for the third phase where polling will be held on 6th April.

5 candidates filed nominations in the Mankachar constituency and 6 candidates from the South Salmara constituency at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, South Salmara-Mancachar on Friday (19 March).

AIUDF as well as its alliance partner Indian National Congress Aminul Islam, Independent candidate Rukunur Zaman, Soyed Ahmed Imam, Independent candidate Akhaluna Begum filed their nomination papers on Friday (March 19) in the Mankachar constituency.

Independent Candidate Nurul Islam Mullah, Fozlul Hoque Chowdhury, Janata Dal (United) JD (U) candidate Taleb Ali, Rashttriya Ulama Council candidate Nurul Islam, Nationalist Congress Party candidate Jinnat Mullah, Raijor Dol candidate Nozrul Islam filed nomination in South-Salmara constituency.

Speaking to the media Aminul Islam said, "Congress is our big brother. We will discuss who will be eligible for the next CM, the alliance will form the government. I will surely win."

Nurul Islam Mullah said, "There are 29 panchayats in South –Salmara constituency. There lots of problems in this constituency. I will win in the next election, will do work for people."

Janata Dal (United) JD (U) candidate Taleb Ali said, "I have filed nomination at Mankachar constituency. I will do development work for people such as water facilities, road construction, etc."

Fozlul Hoque Chowdhury said, "I have filed nomination because people want me. I am confident that I will win."

Jinnat Mullah said, "I am a lawyer. I am contesting from the Nationalist Congress Party. I have filed nominations today. I will do development work for the South-Salmara constituency."
