Vehicles with illegal timber seized in Assam- Meghalaya border

Karbi Anglong Kheroni forest division officials on Wednesday seized a truck and a bolero pick-up carrying illegal timber at Rongpharkong in West Karbi- Anglong, Assam- Meghalaya border.

As per reports, on the basis of reliable information, forest officials have seized those vehicles loaded with timber. The vehicles have been apprehended and are now in the custody of the range forest officer, Kheroni.

Speaking to media, forest officials said, "We have seized a truck and a bolero pick-up with illegal timber on Wednesday at Rongpharkong in West Karbi- Anglong, Assam- Meghalaya border. The vehicle has been taken to the Kheroni forest range office. We request people who involved with this not to destroy our natural resources."
