The Gauhati High Court has closed a suo moto PIL, which was initiated in 2021 in connection with the Covid-19 pandemic, on the ground that the situation is under control in the States under the court's jurisdiction - Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh.

The Governments of Assam and Maharashtra have reached a consensus for establishing a Maharashtra Bhawan in Guwahati along with a second Assam Bhawan in Mumbai at a dinner hosted by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at a city hotel on Saturday for his Mahar- ashtra counterpart Eknath Shinde and his team.

A team of the Central Guwahati Police District on Sunday arrested a thief - Saiful Islam of Noonmati for stealing a bicycle and also arrested a receiver of stolen goods - Abbas Ali of South Sarania while one Bonomali Das of Lumding was also arrested after he was caught red-handed while trying to steal a wallet and a mobile phone at Pragjyotishpur on Sunday.

The Assam Pharmacy Council has restarted the process to facilitate appointment of an Inspector to the Council as per the recommendation of the Pharmacy Council of India. the Assam Govt had earlier disallowed appointment of an Inspector to the Assam Pharmacy Council.

The Department of School Education has announced that applications received till November 30 next for general and single transfer of teachers (both inter-district and intra-district) will be considered for processing in the 1st phase.
