KOKRAJHAR, January 1: With the message of peace and harmony, two young cartoonists are going to different places in Kokrajhar district in a car.

The two cartoonists,Amrit Basumatary of Chirang and Sundar Mohan Murmu from Jamshedpur in Jharkhand started their journey from Bongaigaon on Thursday morning and travelled to Kokrajhar through NH–31 with cartoons and messages written like ‘Tolerance leads to peace’, ‘Keep calm and peace’, ‘Follow secularism’ ‘Stop rumor, spread humour’ on the vehicle.

Sundar Mohan Murmu said, “Violence won’t yield any results. It is only peace that will take us forward.” Echoing the same sentiment, Amrit Basumatary said that the Bodos and Adivasis had been living together since many years. There was no enmity between the two communities. “It is a small effort on our part to send a message of peace and harmony though our cartoons,” he said.

Basumatary said that people were appreciating their work. Both are active members and master trainers of the World Comics India Network, Delhi, which is an organization that promotes grassroot comics globally.
