Alok lifts singles title in Lahoty tennis

GUWAHATI, Jan 7:  Alok Tripathi clinched the Men’s Singles title defeating Shiv Kumar Prajapti from Guwahati by 2–6, 6–2, 10–6 in the fil of 17th Anup Lahoty–India Club Open Tennis Championship played at India Club courts today. In the Boy’s Singles Under 18 years, Arb Jan Lahkar of Duliajan won the title beating Rauk Bora of Guwahati 6–2, 6–4 while in the Boy’s Singles Under 14 years event Anurag  Buragohain emerged champion beating Pratik Hazarika 6–2, 6–1 in the fil. Debanga Pratim Hazarika wins the Boy’s Singles Under 12 years title. He defeated  Arunesh Bora 4–1, 4–1. Meanwhile in the Girl’s Singles Under 12 years Kristi Boro wins the title beating Ishika Chakma in straight sets 4–2, 4–2 . In the Girl’s Singles Under 14 years  Jashree Saikia bagged the title beating Harshita Bora of Dibrugarh 4–0, 4–2 in the title clash. Tutu Thapa–Sudhanta Mohanty of NFRSA won the men doubles title beating Alok Tripathy–Suman Debth 2–6, 7–6, 10–5. The Senior Men’s Doubles (Above 35 years) title was claimed by Bedanta Buragohain–Gaurav Chowdhury. They defeated Debajit Chalia–Rajiv Bora 6–2,6–3 in the fil. Aditya Choudhory and Sinung Langkam were adjudged as most promising players in Boy’s and Girl’s category respectively.
