ASTC bus catches fire with passengers inside in Guwahati city

GUWAHATI: A bus belonging to the Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) reportedly caught fire at Adabari on Friday. Passengers were inside the vehicle when the incident took place, but no one was harmed in any way.

The bus on which the incident took place had the registration number AS-01-JC-5107 and was waiting for passengers to board and deboard when the fire incident took place. The reason for the fire is said to be a mechanical failure, which caused a fire near the engine compartment. The fire was extinguished by the passengers and local people, ensuring that it did not turn into a major mishap.
