Strict action against illegal wild animals’ trade

Itagar, January 1: The DFO of Banderdewa Forest Division has cautioned illegal wildlife traders to refrain from such activities and the violators would be dealt sternly. Taking serious note on such illegal trade, the DFO informed that hunting, selling or possession of meat, fur, skin, horns etc. of wild animals and birds are strictly prohibited under Wildlife Protection Act 1972 and the violators would be punished with imprisonment up to a period of seven years or imposed pelty or by both. Forest Department officials would conduct search operations in various routes under the division to check inflow of such items.
