Foundation Day of Kalong Kola Kendra

gaon, January 2: Kalong Kola Kendra, an institution which has been contributing to the field of art and culture in the State for last fifteen years, observed its foundation day on Thursday. The program was held at the premises of the institution at Puranigudam. The program started with the hoisting of the flag, which was followed by an open session. The open session was chaired by Satradhikar Jugal Chandra Deva Goswami. The objective of the programme was explained by Chittaranjan Bora. Vice chancellor of Srimanta Sankardva University Kandarpa Kumar Deka and noted litterateur Pradip Saikia participated in the open session. A cultural function was also held on the occasion. Kalong Kola Kendra is an institution where training on mask sculpture (Mukha Silpa), terracotta etc. is imparted. Few years back, the then President of US Bill Clinton had accepted a sculpture gifted by the institution and White House had even sent a letter of acknowledgement.
