New Year Day celebrated at CRC harlagun

harlagun, January 2: The Christian Revival Church at F’ Sector harlagun – also the Centre church of APCRCC – joined the rest of the world in celebrating the New Year Day in a befitting manner.

The New Year Day which is also observed as ‘me Giving day’ of Lord Jesus Christ was celebrated and observed at the church. The believer members of the church, braving the chilling cold, took to one day and two nights prayer–fasting–devotiol time and prayed for world peace, unity and commul harmony, which culmited over the waiting–night service followed by a cake–cutting ceremony. The two–day celebrations was also marked with songs and dance presentations, choreographies, praise and worship, Water Baptism of 29 believers, Lord’s Supper, felicitations of sports persons and of other fields, martial arts demonstrations, documentary shows, merry–making and a New Year Day community feast. Pastor Hillang Taya, speaking on the occasion as main speaker, emphasized on the importance of Godly living and exhorted the believers to rededicate themselves to the services of God and to work for the welfare of the society. He said that, “with the stepping into a new year, one should renew and recommit oneself to serve the society with love and respect for others”. Organizing secretary Tad Akin led the services and briefly explained the significance of the me Giving Day of Lord Jesus Christ. Chief Patron of the celebration committee Sudhir Ke also spoke on the occasion. Among others, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and Principal of Police Training Centre (PTC) Marge Riba, Deputy Registrar of RGU Dr. David Pertin, SMO Dr. Mope Riba, Rtd. Deputy Director ATI Tenzing Lodo, PPDCRCC Secretary Evan. Tami Tachang and PPDCRCYW President Gibbs Taba also attended the programme. Around 2000 believers participated in the celebrations, a press release said.
