RPRS kicked off in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH, January 2: After a long interval, Raijor Podulit Raijor Sarkar (RPRS), which was introduced by Tarun Gogoi–led Congress government in the second spell of his tenure in order to bring administration to doorstep of the poor, successfully kicked off today in Dibrugarh.  Initially the programme started in 20 gaon panchayats (GPs). This will be followed by in a phase wise manner on January 3, January 5 and January 6 with 20 GPs covered on each day. The programme will start in the last 13 GPs on January 8. The Dibrugarh district comprises of 93 GPs which are spread in 7 blocks.  Leaflets, pamphlets depicting the government programmes on education/ health/sanitation, social welfare and rural development will be distributed in all GPs during the campaign. Efforts are being made to publicize about RPRS through meeting with PRS members, NGOs, Self Help Groups, organizing press meet and advertising through print and electronic media.
