From a Correspondent

JORHAT, January 4: Two hundred Bir Lachit Borphukan Martial Art academy students took out a  55–km bike rally from Jorhat to Sivsagar on Sunday with the motto,’Save Youth Save Assam’. The rally was flagged off by Jorhat Superintendent of Police, Amanjeet Kaur.

Organizer and Guinness World Record Holder Abhijit Baruah said,” On an average two youths die due to road accidents in Assam and this is mostly because of young stunt maniac bikers. Through our rally we want to send the message across all young bikers that drive slowly, wear helmets, obey traffic rules, be safe and keep others safe.”

The SP wished all the bikers good luck and appreciated the unique idea of the organizers. The rally culmited at Sivadol in Sivasagar and en–route to Sivasagar 400 bikers joined the rally from Jhanji Amguri.
