Limca Book of Records honours Dr gen Saikia

DIBRUGARH, January 5: Litterateur Dr gen Saikia has been selected as one of the Limca Book of Records People of the Year for 2015 in the category of literature. He is one of the fifteen persolities who have been given the honour.

The former president of Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) was informed by Senior Editor, Arthy Muthan Singh, about their decision recently in a letter, which also mentions that the 26th edition of Limca Book of Records is a special literature edition. The others selected include

Kunwar rain, Dr mwar Singh, Ruskin Bond, yantara Sahgal, Dr Amitav Ghosh, Mahasweta Devi, MT Vasudevan ir, Gurdial Singh, Rahman Rahi, Dr Chandrasekhar Kambar, Sitakanta Mahapatra, Dr CS Lakshmi (Ambai), Laxman Gaikwad and Nida Fazli.

The selection panel comprised MP (Rajya Sabha) and senior jourlist, HK Dua, publisher and chief editor of HarperCollins Publishers, India, Karthika VK, Secretary of Sahitya Akademi, Dr K Sreenivasarao and former bureau chief of BBC, Sir William Mark Tully.
