Wholesalers help violence–hit

GUWAHATI, January 6: A delegation of the Wholesale General Merchants’ Association (WGMA), Guwahati visited some of villages affected in the December 23 mayhem and doted them CI sheets, utensil, and other materials. The team comprises Vijay Kumar Gupta, Novin Karki, Poom Kumar Taneja, Arun Agarwal, Washim Ahmed, Rajendra Gupta and BK Tiwari along with 24 other members, a press release said. The delegation visited Batasipur in Dhekiajuli where 2,790 people from 280 families, including six families that lost their near and dear ones, have been kept in relief camps. They also distributed CI sheets and utensil among the violence affected.
