Convention to discuss identity crisis of indigenous people

DIBRUGARH, January 9: The Convention of Indigenous Fellowship (CIF) is being organized by the Ahom Royal Society with the support of Ahom Royal Youth Federation here next month.

Scholars, jourlists, educationists and public, from the State and outside, will participate in the event, which will be held from February 13 to February 15 at Chowkidinghee field. The aim behind the convention is to study the identity crisis of the indigenous people of the State and the various developments in the context of the provisions of the Indian Constitution. The problem of illegal migrants and the consequent threat to the local people will also come up for discussion.

The organizers hope to achieve tiol integration, cement the bonds of brotherhood and dissemite the message of peace and harmony. The initiative has been taken as the Society felt that there was need to unite all indigenous people of the State and general public in the present fast–changing situation.
