Four arrested for molestation

MANGALDAI, January 9: The Mangaldai police have arrested four youths for trying to outrage the modesty of a female health worker in Mangaldai.

 The arrested accused persons are Dhiraj Hazarika (23) alias Dangor Dhan, Nitul Deka (21) alias Ram, Khargeswar Boro alias Khargei (20) and Jadu Moni Kalita (20), all residents of Prafulla gar of Mangaldai. Some days ago, the four youths allegedly tried to molest the female health worker inside a small tea stall when she had gone to Gerimari Chowk in the evening. They fled when she protested and shouted for help. The victim lodged an FIR at Mangaldai Police Station and the police accordingly registered a case vide No. 14/15 under section 509/354/323/34 of Indian Pel Code.  The police acting promptly on the case, two days later successfully arrested all the four absconding  accused persons and the court has remanded them to the judicial custody in Mangaldai District Jail.
