DIBRUGARH, January 9: Milan Jyoti Sangha (MJS), as a part of its ongoing year–long Golden Jubilee celebration, will observe Shilpi Divas centrally here at District Library on January 17 to commemorate the death anniversary of Roopkonwar Jyoti Prasad Agarwala.
The day’s programmes includes smriti tarpan, oratory competition among the students of Class VIII to Class X, felicitation of four leading artistes, Dr Dilip Ranjan Borthakur, (music), Pradip Goswami (Bhao artist), Bishnu Khargoria (cine actor) and Anuj Duwara (sculptor), for their immense contribution in the cultural field of the State. The topic of the oratory competition is ‘Roop Konwar Jyoti Prasad Agarwala’s contribution to the cultural world of Assam’.
The former Principal of Dibrugarh Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School, Lakhimi Neog, and former president of the Axam Xahitya Xabha, Dr gen Saikia will grace the competition and felicitation programmes as honoured guests respectively. The convener of cultural sub–committee, Jyoti Sankar Chaliha, has requested the Dibrugarites to attend all programmes of the Shilpi Divas.
