Rice bags seized

KOKRAJHAR, January 9: The Runikhata police team on Friday seized 20 bags of rice which were supplied to the relief camps in Kokrajhar from unscrupulous businessmen. Police sources said the rice bags were being loaded into a mini truck by unscrupulous businessmen when the police patrolling team caught them red–handed them at Golajhar Adivasi relief camp under Runikhata police station in Chirang district. Sources said the camps in–charge at different relief camps had asked for more number of rice bags than the actual requirement of the camp inmates.  The extra rice bags were sold to a local trader by a group of people in the camp. Two people have been arrested in this connection.
