Ajanta Neog is the daughter of Late Sasadhar Das and Late Rebati Das. She was married to Late Nagen Neog in 1995.

Education

She has done her M.A. from Gauhati University in 1991, and also completed her L.L.M. in 2001 from the same University.

Career & Politics

Ajanta Neog was a sitting MLA of the Indian National Congress (INC) from the Golaghat constituency. She resigned in 2020 after she joined BJP. She won four consecutive Assam Assembly elections in 2001, 2006, 2011, and 2016 from Golaghat on a Congress ticket. She was the Minister for Public Works Department, Urban Development and Housing in the TarunGogoi Cabinet of 2006-16. She was given the GolaghatRatna award by the United Chambers of Commerce, Golaghat.

Social Work & Activity

She has immensely helped in the social upliftment of the weaker sections of society. She granted financial assistance to set up a pig farm, fishery, a new panchayat office at Mokrong GP, and a newly constructed foot over bridge.
