Early Life

Atuwa Munda is the son of Late Bhayaram Munda. He resides in Halmira Tea state, Khowang in Dibrugarh district. His wife is a member of Zila Parishad.

Education:

He is an Arts graduate from Dibrugarh University, 1987 batch.

Career & Politics

Atuwa Munda is a three-time MLA – 1996, 2001 and 2011. He also served as the Environment & Forest and Tea Tribe Welfare Minister. In the 2016 Assam Assembly election, he lost to Bimal Borah. He served as the President of Congress committee of Dibrugarh district. He is contesting the upcoming Assam Assembly elections for the fourth time on a Congress (INC) ticket from the Tingkhong constituency.
