Debajyoti Dutta to be the new DCO/DCR of Assam

GUWAHATI: The Central Government has appointed Debajyoti Dutta, IAS, as the Director of Census Operations (DCO)/Director of Citizens Registration (DCR), Assam under the Central Staffing Scheme.

A communication from the Department of Personnel & Training, Government of India, to the Chief Secretary of Assam stated that the tenure of appointment will be from the date of joining the post up to December 31, 2025 or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The communication requested the State Government to relieve Debajyoti Dutta from his current duty so that he may join service as DCO)/DCR, Assam under the Union Home Ministry.

The communication further mentioned that an officer should join the relevant post within three weeks of issuance of the appointment order, failing which the process of debarment from the Central Staffing Scheme will be initiated.
