GUWAHATI: In a recent suspected transgender person’s death identified as Amdadul Islam, the Chandmari Police and the Jakhalabandha Police, in a joint operation, detained another transgender person identified as Radha.
According to sources, the police have started interrogating Radha after they brought him to Guwahati. Earlier, the police had interrogated other transgender people. All of them have been interrogated thoroughly. The reason for his murder is still uncertain and not clear, and whether he was posing as a transgender person is also a matter of question. The Chandmari Police along with the Crime Branch conducted an investigation in the Krishna Nagar area after they found blood stains on the road, even though it’s not sure whose it might be.
According to sources, Islam, who hails from Juria in Nagaon District, came to Guwahati 15 to 20 days prior to his death, and he informed his family that he would be heading to Kerala. Islam used to frequently visit Guwahati from Nagaon. His body was identified by his family, and several transgender people came to the forefront regarding his murder.
