GUWAHATI: The National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), a Mini Ratna Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), has been working to promote, aid and foster the growth of micro, small and medium enterprises in the country.

According to a press release, NSIC-Training Cum Incubation Centre, Guwahati imparts training on different trades and has given handholding support to set up more than 500 enterprises to pass-out trainees in different sectors like Textile, Food processing, Fancy/School bag making, Decorative candle making etc.

As part of the NSIC Training program, a valedictory function was organised on Wednesday for successfully-passed-out trainees in the trades of Decorative candle making and Fashion Designing. Shio Shankar Singh, Zonal Manager, Punjab National Bank (PNB), graced the gathering as chief guest in presence of Vijay Prakash, Zonal General Manager, NSIC, Guwahati and other senior officials. In order to address this problem of funding, the ZM PNB gave consent to approve collateral-free loan under MUDRA to all the trainees. He also assured that the bank would give financial assistance to many more budding entrepreneurs in coming days. The NSIC stays committed to provide handholding support to both budding entrepreneurs and established enterprises, the press release added.
