One person rescued from four abductors in Gorchuk

GUWAHATI: One person was rescued from a gang of four abductors at the Gorchuk area here on Thursday morning.

Acting on a tipoff that a person identified as Moinul Haque (40 years of age), was being kept under lock and key in a house, the Gorchuk police launched the operation. The four abductors even demanded a ransom of Rs 2.50 lakh. The victim is from Fakirganj in Goalpara District of Assam. The Police carried out operations in various places. Of the four abductors two are from Goalpara and two others from South Salmara.

The abductors have been identified as Md. Sariful Islam (25 years) and Md. Kajim uddin (33 yrs) of Goalpara district; besides Md. Shahin Ali (22 years) and Md. Raj Ali (45 yrs) -- both from Fakirganj in South Salmara.
