Swaraj Asom demands CBI inuquiry into SI recruitment scam

GUWAHATI: The Swaraj Asom has sent a letter to the Prime Minister demanding CBI inquiry into the sub-inspector of police (SI) recruitment scam. The letter was sent by Swaraj Asom chief convener Bhaben Handique. In a statement, Handique along with conveners Tarun Deka and Pranab Deka alleged that scam has taken place in every recruitment. "The government forms investigation commission for namesake after the public shows resentment and protests demanding investigation in scams. Similarly in PNRD (Panchayat and Rural Development) scam, the CM ordered one-man inquiry by additional chief secretary Jishnu Baruah to probe and submit a report. However, the committee report was never made public," said Handique.
