Third death anniversary of former CM Tarun Gogoi observed in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) organized a shraddhanjali programme to commemorate the third death anniversary of the former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Thursday at Rajiv Bhawan.

APCC working president Rana Goswami elaborated the life history of former chief Minister Tarun Gogoi. Goswami said that “former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi deserves to be remembered for the measures he took to revive the sinking economy of the state during his time. The people of the state will also remember Tarun Gogoi for his political wisdom to save Assam from the militants.”

The Congress leaders and members present in the programme paid floral tribute to the former chief minister’s portrait. Dr. Hemahari Pegu, Mira Borthakur Goswami, Mehdi Alam Borah, Apurba Kumar Bhattarcharjee, MLA Abdus Sobahan Ali Sarkar, former MLA Anwar Hussain Laskar, and others were present in the shraddhanjali programme.
