Undivided Goalpara must be part of proposed Kamatapur: KRNC

GUWAHATI: The Koch-Rajbongshi National Convention (KRNC) has demanded that the undivided Goalpara distributed must be made a part of the proposed Kamatapur state.

KRNC's secretary-general Biswajit Roy, who is also a team of mediators constituted by the Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO), said that peace talks between the armed organization and the Central Government are likely to be held in December or January next.

He said that the ensuing talks may result in creation of a Union Territory of Kamatapur comprising parts of north Bengal and Assam. Roy further demanded that the proposed Kamatapur state must be included in the Sixth Schedule areas.
