SIVASAGAR, August 18: License holders of arms in Sivasagar district are yet to rush to the Administration Branch of the Deputy Commissioner’s office for submitting filled in formats for validity of their license. The last date for submission is August 28. The filing of the format, issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, is mandatory and every license arms holder is to file it. Non-filing of the form will mean non-allotment of Unique Identification Number (UIN) and cancellation of the arms license from October 1, 2015.
An official of the DC’s office, Sivasagar said that only 250 arms license holders have so far submitted their duly filled in forms. The official said information had already been given through newspapers and public notice earlier, but few people have taken forms from the office and failed to submit them after duly filling them.
Additiol Deputy Commissioner HK Pegu stated that all license arms holders have to submit their duly filled in forms along with xerox copy of the license. The ADC asked all arms license holders to approach the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Sivasagar to collect the form and other queries. He said any arms license not bearing the UIN will be treated as invalid with effect from October 1, 2015.
