Joysagar, June 15: In connection with the alleged anomalies in distributing compensation to the parties whose land and property were affected in the me of the Central PWD Project, a formal crimil case was at last been registered in Sivasagar Sadar PS on June 12.
The FIR was lodged by one Ajimuddin Ahmed, a citizen of Dhai Ali area of Sivasagar town. Ahmed in his FIR described an instance of irregularity in the me of offering compensation to those whose land and property were affected due to the four-lane Central PWD project in NH-37 in Sivasagar. As per the FIR, Dharmeshawer Mili, a resident of Sivasagar by the NH-37 was compensated with a sum of Rs. 97 lakh by the Sivasagar Circle Office with the help of the then District Treasury officer and an ADC of Sivasagar. Ahmed said in his complaint that the land of Dharmeshawer Mili bearing patta no.16 under Sivasagar gar Mahal mouza and dag no.1 of the sixth part of the land site of Sivasagar NH-37 consisted actually of total four lessa land and the existing value of this land is only Rs. 2 lakh at present. But a section of corrupt district administration officials made some false documents for this land and filly took a sum of Rs. 97 lakh from the NHIDCL authorities on 2015.
Following the FIR of Ajimuddin Ahmed, a case has been registered in Sivasagar Sadar PS Vide No-398/2017 US-408/420 IPC. It should be mentioned here that some similar allegations regarding four-lane land and property compensation in Sivasagar NH-37 had been made by a section of conscious citizens of Sivasagar where it was revealed that many persons of Sivasagar who lived by the side of NH-37 were getting a large amount of money as compensation from NHIDCL authorities with fake papers which were produced before the Central Highway Development authorities and made with the help of some dishonest government officers of Sivasagar district like the Government Treasury Officer, ADC, District Circle Officer, SDO, PWD Engineer and some clerks and mandals of Sivasagar Circle Office.
The shocking allegations of misappropriation of about Rs 300 crore in the me of land and property compensation in four-lane project in Sivasagar has rocked the entire State and many social organizations has been demanding the Chief Minister’s intervention in the issue. Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner rayan Konwar has ordered an enquiry into the alleged anomalies and Sivasagar District Development Commissioner Abhijit Baruah has already been appointed as the Chief Enquiry Officer and he will submit his fil report soon.
On the other hand, Sivasagar Police has also taken the issue seriously and already quizzed a Government Treasury Officer for two hours in Sadar PS recently about this compensation case.
