Green Valley ready for home matches

GUWAHATI, June 16: FC Green Valley are gearing up for their home matches in the Assam State Premier League soccer championship. The side will face Baarhoonkha  AC in their first home game which will be held at the Nehru Stadium on Thursday.

FC Green Valley, which are in the Lower Assam Group, currently leading the points table. The team altogether played five matches in the competition and collected 13 points. However team coach resh Chetry found very cautious today and he felt that it is not time to relax as the battle is not finish yet. Talking to the media person in a press conference Chetry said,“ The level of competition in the Assam State Premier League is very high and all the teams are equally balanced. So we have to stay focus on our job and will try to play good soccer in the coming matches. ”

The media briefing was also attended by the Pulak Goswami, the owner of FC Green Valley, Gilbertson Sangma, the ambassador of the club, captain Lucky Imran, two foreign recruits of the team George Prince Chinonso and Michael Lucky Kelechukwa along with Ankur Dutta, the secretary of the Assam Football Association. Speaking on the occasion Gilbertson Sangma, former great of Assam football, said, “ I am glad to see the newly designed Assam State Premier League.  If the AFA continues to host the meet in the coming years I am optimistic that football in Assam will be highly benefitted from it as the young players will get good exposure through this competition.”

FC Green Valley today unveiled their home match jersey in the same function. Later Pulak Goswami informed the media that they were trying their best to make wide publicity of their home  games so that good number of crowed turned up to witness the match and support the home team. The club today also released the ticket price of their home games which will be Rs 30, Rs 40 and Rs 50.

Meanwhile AFA secretary Dutta today told the media that the trophy of the Assam State Premier League will be unveiled in a function in the city on July 3. He also said that there will be no relegation in this edition of the tourment.

The schedule of FC Green Valley’s home matches: June 18 vs Baarhoongkha AC, June 21 vs Guwahati FC, June 25 vs Global FC, June 28 vs Udalguri, July 2 vs Tezpur United.
