Prashant Gautam appointed new East Siang SP

Itagar, Dec 1: Prashant Gautam has taken charge as the new Superintendent of Police (SP) for East Siang district after outgoing SP Prav Tayal was transferred with a new assignment to SIC Chimpu, Itagar. Gautam, a resident of Delhi, is a 2013 batch IPS officer. After serving the Delhi Police as an ACP he joined the Itagar Police Headquarters on August 17last. Earlier, he served in the DRDO as a scientist and as a deputy commissioner (Customs) in Mumbai. “Prevention of any illegal activities, ensuring peace and harmony in the district, maintence of law and order, transparent and clean police administration will be my priority,” assured the new SP in his first day in office.

Having studied the present working pattern with the police officers, the SP chalked-out strategies to tackle law and order situation of Aruchal.

He instructed the police officers to ensure public safety and to focus on crime prevention and detection in an efficient and speedy manner with the help of modern technologies.

On traffic regulations, he opined that common mindset needs to be changed first. “People should obey and respect traffic rules,” Gautam said, adding that all available resources would be utilized to maintain safety, security, peace and tranquility in the society.

The SP has further urged the citizens of Pasighat to register their grievances fearlessly, adding that higher importance would be given to community policing to bridge the gap between the police and civilians.
