Romanian Marica ends football career

Bucharest, Oct 31: Romanian striker Ciprian Marica announced his retirement from football on Monday after 15 years as a professiol due to physical problems he has been suffering for months. In a message on his Facebook account, the 31-year-old thanked the game for everything it gave him and the fans for their support, appreciation, even their criticism. The Romanian explained that he put an end to his soccer career because his physical condition does not allow him to do things to the level the fans deserve.

The retired player stressed that he will always continue to support his previous teams and will be devoted to the foundation that bears his me.

Born on October 2, 1985, Marica began his career at Dimo Bucuresti between 2001 and 2004 and then moved to Shakhtar Donetsk from 2004 and 2007. IANS
