ITANAGAR: The Foundation for Education and Environment in Lungla (FEEL), in collaboration with sub-divisional administration, organised a career counselling programme for various schools of Lungla in Tawang district, on Monday.
The event was attended by 240 students from Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV), Jantse Gastel Children Community School and Government HS School respectively. Lungla additional deputy commissioner Tashi Dhondup speaking on the occasion said that the programme would create awareness, instill confidence among the students and help them in opting their career choices. Lauding the initiative of the organisers, Dhondup said that such a programme would help students in selecting career plans and to achieve their goals.
Career specific counseling sessions were held where counselors assessed the students’ interests, aptitudes and goals. They also offered valuable advice on higher education opportunities and scholarship programs available.
SSB’s 67 Battalion Assistant Commandant Deepak, First Maratha Regiment’s Major Kartik Pujari, Officer-incharge of 127 Road Construction Company (RCC) Major Rahul Bhola, Dutongkhar Circle Officer Tsetan Droma, ITBP Assistant Commandant Rajesh Kumar, were resource persons of the event, among others.
FEEL president Koncho Tashi informed that the NGO would organize similar events in other blocks of the sub-division in near future and would work intensively for development of education.
