DIBRUGARH: The All Assam Bengali Youth Students' Federation (AABYSF) on Friday said that a fake organization in the name and banner of AABYSF was illegally collecting money.

Addressing a press conference here, Nirmal Kanti Shil, working central president of AABYSF, stated that a fake organisation has been floated and it was illegally collecting money from people to host the 9th biennial conference of AABYSF.

"The organization has been floated to collect money in the name of service to the Bengali community. We have been working since many years but now this new fake organization has been illegally collecting donation by publishing fake receipt books. They have also published the Dibrugarh SP and DC's names in their invitation letter," Shil said. Shil said, "We are not organizing any biennial conference. We urge the district administration to take lawful action against the organization."

Bapi Sarkar, general secretary of Dibrugarh district AABYSF, said, "Our organization's name has been used by such people for collecting money to defame our organization. We have come to know that this fake organization has been collecting donation from everywhere to organize the 9th biennial conference of AABYSF. They have published the name of school teacher Ashok Mazumdar without taking his consent. Mazumdar has already informed our central president and inspector of school, Dibrugarh about the matter." "We urge the Dibrugarh district administration to take necessary action against the organization," Bapi Sarkar said. Deepak Dey, central committee president of AABYSF, who was also present at the press conference, said, "We didn't collect donation to hold our conference. This organization has been floated only to collect money from the public," he said.
