Assam: 85-Year-Old Priest Nabbed For Allegedly Impregnating Minor Girl

Lakhimpur: A 85-year-old priest has been arrested in Lakhimpur's Panigaon over the charges of sexually abusing and impregnating a minor girl.

The incident came to light when the 15-year-old girl was found to be pregnant by her mother.

The victim's mother accused the priest identified as Bhola Baba of raping her daughter and claimed that the accused used to call her daughter for doing some chores and then would force him upon her.

''He used to call my daughter for chores and then rape her. He also threatened her with dire consequences if she revealed the same in front of others,'' the girl's mother told the media.

She also claimed that Baba had offered money to settle the matter.
