Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma's Visit To Silchar Makes The City Roads Porthole Free

The Chief Minister had visited Silchar to to review several government projects that are currently under works.

Silchar: The roads in Silchar which was filled with portholes for months seems to have been magically repaired overnight right before the visit of Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. This has drawn sharp criticism from the citizens of Silchar. The administration of Cachar district has been called out by the people for taking action only before the arrival of the Chief Minister.

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma had visited the Barak Valley to oversee many governmental project that are currently underway.

On his visit to Silchar, the Chief Minister reviewed the construction of 500-bed hospital at Silchar Medical College and Hospital. He also inaugurated 80 ICU beds which includes 40 beds for pediatric.

He also took stock of the construction work of Silchar by pass which connects National Highway 306 (Silchar-Aizawl) and National Highway 37 (Silchar-Karimganj) along with the senior officials of NHIDCL & PWD Roads.

In addition, he also reviewed the construction of Mini Secretariat of Barak Valley at Srikona while visiting the site. 

The Chief Minister announced that this project costing a total of Rs 116 crores will be completed in 3 years. The Mini Secretariat of Barak Valley will also facilitate administrative activities of the valley. People will not be required to travel to Guwahati for government works and approvals.
