Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday engaged himself in a fight with Congress after he shared a funny parody video of Rahul Gandhi on a social media site.

Renewing his attack on Rahul Gandhi and Congress, Sarma took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and shared the video captioned ''राहुल नाम मेरा …'' wherein, a character portrayed as Rahul Gandhi can be seen dancing over the song, Rahul Mera Naam, Record Mera Badnam''.

In the parody, Rahul Gandhi can be heard singing that it is his job to create confusion in the party. When slogans of hatred are raised against India, their tongues are closed.

Besides this, in the parody, Rahul says he grows potatoes, makes gold and is often defeated in the election but he doesn't give up. Let me spread the confusion and make my own band out of that confusion.

Sarma's tweet garnered massive likes on Twitter and also the press and information in charge of Congress said that who he (Himanta Biswa Sarma) is, he does not take him seriously.

Notably, Congress on Wednesday launched the 3,570 km long foot march and plans to cover 12 states and two union territories within a span of 150 days.

Several political psephologists are of the view that this march is an attempt to revive the party which has faced several defeats since 2014.

However, Gandhi's march has also invited criticism and brought him under attack from Assam's CM as earlier this week, Sarma had said, "Rahul Gandhi ji should go to Pakistan for Bharat Jodo Yatra if they want unification".

The comment of Sarma drew a strong response from Congress as Congress leader Jairam Ramesh called him "an armchair critic", and accused the BJP of diversionary tactics.

"I don't take Assam CM seriously, because he has to prove his loyalty every day after having been a part of Congress for 20-25 years," Jairam Ramesh said.
