TEZPUR: Heavy rainfall over the past few days in Assam has created flood like situation. In many districts including Sonitpur there were reports of villages being cut-off from the main land due to heavy water logging. Many villages nearby unit HQr of 30 BN located at Chariduar also reported of heavy water logging. People are trapped in their homes waiting to be rescued to safer places. 30 Bn CRPF equipped with rescue flood equipment under the supervision of Arun Kumar Meena, Commandant-30 Bn and under command Kamal Singh Negi, Dy.Commandant was quick to respond and was able to rescue many trapped families to safer places in the village area of Dighali Mansiri. The families included many aged, patients and a newly-born child. The local administration and villagers appreciated the good work and applauded CRPF for their proficiency during rescue operations.
