Guwahati: Three thieves were arrested from Assam by the Government Railway Police (GRP) who robbed passengers travelling in railway.

The GRP also recovered assets worth over Rs10.60 lakh.
After campaigning 20 days in Assam under the supervision of SD M Rajkumar, the GRP tam has arrested the trio identified as Nayanmuni Medhi (26), Deepjyoti Medhi (22) and Sanjay Rathi (28).
According to sources, the gangsters have been charged with over a dozen offences in Tamil Nadu.
According to the sources, based on the information police tracked down one of the robbers' girlfriend, with whom they were able to apprehend him.
During interrogation, the criminal revealed the whereabouts of his two accomplices, which led to their arrest.
Earlier, amid Durga Puja festivities a soldier's house became the target of the thieves in Golaghat. As per the report, a soldier named Anjan Bora from the Indian Army had come to his home on leave at Nora Konwar Bongaon area under Khumtai constituency in Golaghat. On the day of Mahashtami Puja, Bora took his family to visit puja mandaps. After returning home, the family found that their scooty, a laptop, four smartphones, cash worth rupees fifteen thousand were stolen.
This incident created sharp reactions in the region. People stated that Anjan Bora who has been serving for the nation at Ladakh border in an extremely cold area is now feeling unsafe and insecure in his own native place which is really miserable. However, police has started an investigation.
