Kokrajhar: The students of Kokrajhar Music and Fine Arts College are in a dilemma as the boycott of classes by the teachers entered its fourth day on Saturday. The students of the college also staged sit-in in front of the entrance gate demanding immediate solution of problems.
The agitated teachers of the college started class boycott on May 29 in protest against the pathetic attitude towards the lone music and fine art college of lower Assam and BTC region. The teachers expressed their anguish as the State Government has failed to provincialize the college even after two decades. The agitated teachers said they had kept faith in successive governments but nothing happened. They said they had high hopes on the BJP-led State Government but the file for provincialization of the college was allegedly lying on the table of a cabinet minister for reasons best known to him.
Meanwhile, the students of Kokrajhar Music and Fine Arts College are also staging demonstration every day demanding immediate solution to various problems. They demanded that the government should take urgent initiative to solve the problems of the college and the teachers and classes should be resumed since the examination of B. Music and B. Fine under Bodoland University will be held from June 13. They also demanded appointment of regular principal.
