Mass COVID vaccination campaign held across Assam

DIBRUGARH: Power Minister and Guardian Minister of Charaideo Bimal Bora was accompanied by the Commissioner and Secretary, Ruby Bora and Charaideo Deputy Commissioner, Binita Pegu during a mass vaccination campaign on Friday. They visited all 69-vaccination sites where out of targeted 12 thousand doses, 9079 vaccinations were served. The Additional Deputy Commissioner, (Vaccination) Moushumi Chetia and other senior district officials also attended the vaccination programme.

TINSUKIA: The Tinsukia district performed well in the mega COVID vaccination programme held on Friday by achieving 148.79 per cent after the State set the target of 35000 doses even as the district of its own set the target of 50,000. While 53,767 persons were vaccinated, 24813 persons took 1st jab and rest 28954 persons received 2nd doses across 146CVCs in Tinsukia district including 50 tea gardens.

Some Tinsukia urban centres like Cultural Hall, Rishi Bhawan in Raja Ali Road, Madhav Bhawan witnessed mad rush for inoculation and the vaccines had to be replenished several times as the beneficiaries outnumbered the target population. In cultural Hall with capacity of 500 doses, 1192 persons were vaccinated till late evening.

In sync with the programme, a felicitation programme for outstanding health workers was organised at Tinsukia Civil Hospital in presence of hospital superintendent Dr Mridul Gogoi, ADC i/c Health Dipu Deka and others.

DOOMDOOMA: As a part of 20-day 'Sewa Aru Samarpan Abhiyan' to celebrate the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi all over the country, mass COVID vaccination programme was taken up at Sadiya Sub-division on Friday. A total of 6,729 people were vaccinated in COVID vaccination centres that started functioning from 6 am in the morning. Altogether 150 health workers took part in the aforesaid camps.
